Here are some random extra pictures from April!

Shelby with the binoculars.

A favorite past time of the kids - watching the "big arm" truck!

Shelby playing with Legos in the car.

Reading the Bible is so upsetting!

Where's Shelby?

"I want the balloon!"

This past week was a struggle to even pull out my camera, much less stay with my theme for the month. I've had a lot on my plate with trying to reorganize my kitchen after the remodel, and getting things fixed, replaced, moved, rearranged, etc. has taken far too much time! I ended up having to take some extra pictures to have enough to cover each day. And I actually ended up liking a couple of the last minute shots better than the ones I thought about and tried to plan out!

Scotty giving Mia a ride. Better hold on tight Mia!

Scotty wanting to climb the tree with the kids. He couldn't get very far though.

Scotty listening to Readeez with Shelby. So glad it came with the words!

Scotty guarding the bird feeder. He loves the birds, but is on the watch for the neighborhood cats that keep trying to come have one for dinner!

Can you spot Scotty?

Scotty helping Shelby with her word search. Or maybe the other way around? Shelby is good at these!

Bike Riding

In April Shelby learned to ride a pedal bike. She had started on a balance bike (a bike with no pedals or training wheels) and was really good at that, and she could also pedal a tricycle. So she finally tried the two skills together and did great!

Shelby was upset because she couldn't start pedaling on her own! (She learned that skill a few weeks later!)

I know I'm half a week late in posting this, but we've had so much going on with our house that I've been distracted from working on any pictures or posts. So here's Scotty's adventures from last week!

Scotty taking a stroll through the grass.

Scotty playing under the table with Paige. It had been moved into our living room (along with all the other furniture from our kitchen) so we could have the kitchen redone.

Scotty peering into the dirty dryer vent when it was moved from the laundry room.

Scotty testing out the new flooring in the kitchen.

Scotty playing with his shadow in the newly hung cabinet.

Scotty wanted to play with the new sink!

I hit the 100 mark in my 365 project this week! I'm staying with the one object theme the rest of this month before trying to tackle a few new things next month. So here's Scotty's adventures for the week!

Scotty spotted the dryer ball and decided to hop in the dryer to chase it!

Scotty helping make vanilla muffins for breakfast.

Scotty stealing a peek at my new photography book that came in the mail.

Scotty wanted to play with the kids outside with the water hose.

Scotty checking out the chore charts. Wondering if he's going to be on there?

Naughty Scotty! He jumped into Rainjull's belly during her surgery. (Clayton's stuffed dog is called Rain-jull and she had to have "surgery" to get more stuffing.)

Scotty joining in our first game of Risk!

Friday, April 10, 2015

Clayton has had a giant blue stuffed dog since he was a baby. He finally picked a name for her a few years ago. I think he was aiming for Rachel, but it ended up being Rainjull. (I don't know how best to spell that, but that's how it sounds.) Well, over the course of time, she lost most of her stuffing. Clayton asked me if we could do "surgery" and fill her back up. So we did!

Clayton with Rainjull in September 2006.

Poor Rainjull is missing so much stuffing!

Fixed up, good as new!

This week was a full one for me. A good portion of it was spent working on things in my kitchen. We had a new doorway added which opened up the kitchen so much! I spent one day working on staining that new trim. Then I tackled repainting the refrigerator (with much help from my mom getting it cleaned and holding things so I could paint them without it shutting back). I wanted a black refrigerator since all our other appliances are black, but there was no reason to purchase a new one for aesthetic reasons only. So I bought some chalkboard paint to try on it! It took longer than I expected - only because I had other things to do between coats of paint. It ended up looking great though! I still don't have any chalk to try out on it, and I really wanted to do that before I took some pictures, so I don't have any of refrigerator on here. Maybe next week!

Paige's first (partial) cup of bullet proof coffee. She wanted to try it because Cheyenne drinks some, but she didn't care for it as much.

(Notice the wall behind Paige? It is no longer there!)

Here I am standing in the new doorway between the kitchen and the foyer. Previously when you entered the house, you had to walk into the living room and around to the kitchen. Now you can go straight into the kitchen! It's been wonderful, and I still can't get over the difference it makes in the house!

Clayton was really proud of himself for completely another part of a new programming lesson on Khan Academy. He's really learned a lot on there!

For April, I decided to follow in my sister's footsteps and take pictures of one item all month long. It just so happened that while I was out at an antique store, I found several of the cast iron animals like what she used in her pictures. I had wanted to get one anyway, and my girls voted to get the dog. When I told them it was a Scotty dog, they insisted that's what we call him (original, I know!). So, the next month will feature the adventures of Scotty!

Scotty is contemplating why two one dollar bills were attached to a junk letter that came in the mail.

Scotty took control of the remote when we all gathered round to watch a movie.

Scotty enjoyed his first (and probably last) day at Classical Conversations.

Scotty cuddled up for the night with his big pal, Bear (again, so original).

Who I Am

My photo
We're the Presley family. Jon and I met and got married in 2004. The circumstances behind all that were not the best, but God has truly turned our many mistakes into good! Only by His grace and mercy are we where we are today. We have four wonderfully crazy kids that are between four and eight years old. Jon is an HVAC technician and I stay at home to attempt to teach and train our kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It's a challenging job, and one I fail at constantly. But God does and will continue to sustain and uphold me and give me grace to do this amazing task he's called me to do. ~For nothing is impossible with God! Luke 1:37
