On January 19th, we took advantage of an absolutely gorgeous day to spend a few hours at the park. We all had a great time: the kids playing and running around and me taking pictures. The sky was a brilliant shade of blue and it was sunny and warm!

This week was a struggle to think about pictures and making sure to get one regularly. I did take a picture every day, but not like I would have liked to. But hey, that just means we were otherwise busy this week (which can be a good thing)!
Sundays are a very busy day with church, lunch and nap (usually), and then back to church. Most of the time I would not even take my camera with me, so that leaves getting a picture in the evening after church (namely, bedtime). So this was what I was doing before bed: reading part Matthew Henry's commentary on the book of Matthew. I thought this note was a good one!
This is the ONLY picture I took Monday. My kiddos love doing their work in random places. The floor has always been a favorite though!
I couldn't decide on just one for Tuesday, so here's the first of two. Paige was concentrating very hard on the assignment Clayton had given her: figuring out a scrambled sentence.
Picture two for Tuesday. Cheyenne was diligently paying attention to Clayton's instructions for figuring out codes.
A brief stop at a spot I saw in downtown Lawrenceville. Paige is always ready to join in for photos!
Thursday morning was beautifully foggy when I woke up! I quickly got dressed and ran outside to see if I could get some pictures of the fog. This is a shot up the street from my cul-de-sac.
On Friday night Jon took Clayton to a Trail Life event. The girls wanted to stay up late in Mommy's bed.....and they made it about five minutes!
Another sewing day! I quilted and started the binding for a quilt for a baby shower gift! Bethany made the quilt top and I basted it to the back while at church on Thursday. She will finish up the binding later.

January 14th was Shelby's fourth birthday! We usually celebrate small - just a cake and favorite dinner, maybe a dinner out, and a present or two. We had cake the night before her birthday, and celebrated with Mamaw the day of (since her birthday was on Mamaw day).
Shelby helping crush the oreos for her cake. (Her choice of cake, which I doubt I will make again. It was so sickly sweet!)
Happy birthday my sweet four year old!
Mmmm....this cake is yummy!
Celebrating with Mamaw: Shelby doesn't always want her picture taken! Trying not to smile or look at the camera.
Still not smiling, but I caught a glance!
Trying not to laugh or look!
And a sweet one - with a present in her lap to open!
Mamaw reading the card to Shelby.
Cheyenne reading Shelby's new book to her and Paige.
The birthday girl!
Playing with her legos she got for her birthday from us.
She followed the directions well and put several things together on her own!

Well I made it through ten days of doing a 365! There was a day or two that got busy and I didn't really think about pictures until later, so I just quickly thought of something to try. I'm sure days will come that I will miss altogether, but I'm anticipating learning more and continuing to do this!
Another of Shelby in the bathroom. Can you guess this was one day I didn't think about it until bedtime? It's so cute watching her try to be more independent. Her older brother and sister brush THEIR own teeth, surely she can too!
Clayton at his award ceremony for Trail Life. He's one of the original four boys that stuck with the troop through their transition from the Boy Scouts to the new Christian organization. He got his lanyard and a few other things he's earned from their start just over a year ago.
On Tuesday we used the last of a gift card we had to Kids Up (formerly Catch Air) in Suwanee. The kids had been begging to go and I told them as soon as public school was back in session we would head up there. Tuesday came and they asked again. Since it was already so cold, we went for it. The kids had a great time playing and I had fun trying to get many different types of pictures. I had a hard time picking just one, but I really thought this one was fun!
Another day where I didn't take any other pictures. So I took one of my kettle bell. I took a couple days off from swinging because I was so sore after starting back, but I'm happy to say I've *mostly* kept up!
My favorite from the week by far! The kids have gotten into the idea that Mommy is going to stop at random places and take pictures. They've been troopers braving the cold this week so we could go to the park! This was taken at the new Lawrenceville Lawn.
Another stop at another park. Freeman's Mill this time. I once again had a tough time deciding which one to use, but I just loved Shelby and Paige in this picture. Our inability to have matching clothes/jackets/shoes is highly amusing!
Not a terribly exciting picture, but what I worked on today. I finally got around to making my sewing machine cover. I used this tutorial with only a couple tweaks (I don't have a serger, so I double folded the bottom and did french seams on the rest).

On Friday January 9, we decided to stop by Freeman's Mill Park on our way home from Classical Conversations. It was still too cold, so we didn't stay long. But the kids loved seeing the old grist mill and waterfall. They added that to their list of places they want to go when it gets warm again!
Clayton peering in the window at the grist mill.
Honestly, my kids put themselves like this all the time! I wouldn't care if they weren't "in order" but they just naturally stand like this all the time!

See what I mean?

And again....I'm serious! I didn't ask them to do that!
My girls and their crazy mismatched clothes!
Oh see, they CAN be out of order! I think I had to ask for that though...
