Our first annual Walk Worthy Day at the capitol was a huge success! The event was organized by our very own American Heritage Girls Vice Coordinator Beth Nafziger, our Trail Life/AHG charter rep Marvin Burr, and Representative John Carson. I went as an AHG leader with all my kiddos in tow. I took a bunch of pictures, but am limiting this post to ones of mostly my kids (with exception for the big group picture and people I've asked permission from before).

We *barely* made it to the bus stop to catch a Gwinnett Transit bus downtown. We did make it though and enjoyed not having to deal with traffic!

A lady from American Heritage Girls (I can't remember her name!) and Marvin Burr.

I absolutely love the details of the capitol building! There are so many interesting architectural designs, I ended up taking quite a few pictures of just them.

The entire group that showed up! People from many different troops across Georgia. My kids and I are all hiding in this picture somewhere!

One of the doorknobs.

Shelby freaking me out with about the height and her ability to get through the columns. She thought it was quite amusing!

The wood around the door frames.

Outside eating lunch, I noticed the reflection of the capitol on the glass building and thought it looked cool.

Our troops!

A lovely flower!

Over the windows on the outside of the capitol.

A fun part of the day was watching this police dog in action. Nobody bothered to let me know that they had hidden something for him to find right behind where I chose to sit! Thankfully I wasn't too much in his way though...

Shelby enjoying her conversation with Sarah.

Even the vents were pretty!

A picture with the AHG lady. My girls of course had to be silly!

With the Klinect girls, again my girls had to be the goofy ones!

Under the rotunda.

Emily and Paige across the rotunda.

Sarah with Shelby and Cheyenne.

My goofy girls!

All my kiddos on the steps before leaving.

Clayton with his best friend Buddy.

The gold dome of the capitol.

Shelby watching out the window of the bus...

...until she and Paige both crashed.

Random January Pictures

Here are the random extra pictures from January that didn't make it into other posts.

Cheyenne wanted me to take her picture with the flower in her hair!

The pretty flowers I got for my birthday.

Shelby was pouty while waiting for American Heritage Girls to start one evening.

Cheyenne lost tooth number two!

Cheyenne working on a bracelet - and peering at me through the hole.

Clayton enjoyed writing this out in pretzels. I don't remember why he was saying thank you.

A few extra random pictures from the aquarium.

This was on the brick wall near the parking lot. I thought it looked neat!

While eating lunch in the parking lot, we watched these people climbing the wall across the street. It was so cool to see them climbing on the outside of the building!

One of the pretty flowers outside the butterfly house.

Another pretty flower (sorry, I've got no clue what they are actually called).

These glass "jellyfish" were on display near the jellies. I thought they were beautiful!

When leaving the aquarium for the day, I noticed a tree casting a shadow on this wall.

A puddle in the parking lot.

It's the final week! I'm so excited to be done with my 365 project. I can honestly say I learned a lot, although I wish I had turned my camera to manual mode far sooner than October. I think I still have a ton of room for improvement - especially since I still can't figure out how to capture pictures in my house in the evening because it's far too dark. Anyway, I'm excited to move on to other things, even though I want to continue learning more - just at my own pace without feeling pressured into a schedule. So here's my final five pictures of the year!

Some crazy dancing ensued while making dinner Monday evening. This was one of those times where my house is so dark, I have trouble capturing things better. I chose this picture because it had (at least part) of my three dancing kiddos.

A self-portrait in the mirror on the carousel at the zoo. We wanted to go one last time before the end of the year!

We finally got around to cutting down the dead tree in our yard. We weren't sure exactly how it would fall, but we didn't die (as Clayton so elegantly screamed after it fell and missed both us and the house)!

"Mommy I picked you these beautiful yellow flowers!"

While enjoying our neighbor's fireworks, Shelby wasn't so sure she wanted to be holding a Morning Glory!

I can't seem to keep caught up with these posts anymore. I did a good job through the middle of April, then I completely got messed up and haven't gotten back on track. Anyway, since it's not that terribly important anyway, I haven't worried too much about it. I just didn't want to get so far behind as to forget what weeks I'm supposed to be doing!

Shelby made a friend at the Trail Life camp out! Here she was just talking and talking to him when we were packing up to go home.

Monday was American Heritage Girl's messy game night. Paige did not want to play most of the messiest games, but she did play musical chairs (with plates full of shaving cream).

Cheyenne also enjoyed messy game night! She was one of the cleaner girls there since she also wanted to stay out of a couple of the messiest games. She still needed a bath when she got home though!

A favorite pass time around here is Family Fluxx. The kids pull it out and play it on their own!

I noticed these beautiful flowers in our yard on Wednesday. I don't think we've had very many of these before, and they really popped out this year!

Paige being goofy while we were reading a story before bedtime. Obviously I took a break from reading to take a couple pictures, and Paige was all giggly because of my many attempts to catch her smiling.

Paige and Shelby before the production of Wonderland and Into the Woods put on by Artios Academies. The play was wonderful and these two went home singing the songs from the plays for the next couple days!

This isn't the clearest picture, but I just snapped a quick shot of Shelby in her bed Saturday afternoon. Naps are actually a rare thing anymore, and Shelby put herself to bed! I don't remember what all we had done earlier that day, but she was tired and went to bed.

Who I Am

My photo
We're the Presley family. Jon and I met and got married in 2004. The circumstances behind all that were not the best, but God has truly turned our many mistakes into good! Only by His grace and mercy are we where we are today. We have four wonderfully crazy kids that are between four and eight years old. Jon is an HVAC technician and I stay at home to attempt to teach and train our kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It's a challenging job, and one I fail at constantly. But God does and will continue to sustain and uphold me and give me grace to do this amazing task he's called me to do. ~For nothing is impossible with God! Luke 1:37
