In May we participated in a field day with one of the local homeschool groups. It was our second year participating, and the kids loved it! They can't wait to join in next year!
Last year, Shelby didn't really want to participate with her team (until the very end), but this year she jumped right in ready to go! This was a relay race where they had to carry the ball on a plunger down, around a cone, and back to the next person.
Cheyenne playing the ball/plunger game.
Paige doing the crab walk relay race.
Clayton doing the crab walk relay race.
Cheyenne spinning around with her head on a bat. Each team player had to run to the bat, spin around three times while keeping their head on the bat, then run back to their line.
Shelby getting ready for tug of war.
I love the grouping of team colors in this shot!
The great shoe kick! Each person participating had to loosen one of their shoes and when the whistle blew they had to kick it as far as they could. I think the farthest shoe got extra points for their team. Then all the shoes were gathered together in a big pile and from oldest to youngest, every team had to send one person at a time to find their shoe and put it back on before returning to their line. The first team that had every person back in line with both shoes on won!
Cheyenne was more than ready for the over/under water game. She made sure to squeeze as much water on her own head before handing the sponge off!
Shelby also got pretty wet playing!
Clayton and Shelby were on the white team. I think they came in fourth place? Maybe fifth? I can't remember.
Cheyenne was on the green team and they came in second place!
Paige was on the purple team and came in third place! Her team also won the spirit award for having the most team spirit and cheering each other on!
